And only 300 of them will be built.
Lexus is continuing its run of limited-edition ‘Inspiration Series’ models with the upcoming launch of the LS 500 Inspiration Series. Like other Lexus Inspiration models such as the LX Inspiration and LC 500 Inspiration, the limited-edition LS 500 stands out next to its standard sibling thanks to a unique exterior and interior color combination that “gives the flagship sedan an unmistakable visual presence.” This is the fourth Inspiration Series Lexus car, as well as the first sedan to get this exclusive treatment.
Exclusive to the LS 500 Inspiration Series is a unique new exterior color called Deep Garnet, which Lexus describes as a “deep, metallic shade of red that shimmers in direct sun yet has a deep, lustrous tone in the shade.” As standard, the limited-edition luxury sedan rides on 20-inch wheels finished in Black Vapor Chrome. Like the Deep Garnet paint, the wheels glimmer in the sun and look polished and subdued in the shade.
Complementing the eye-catching exterior is a unique interior with standard white leather trim used on the seats, center console and door panels. According to Lexus, the semi-analine leather uses a dyeing process that gives it a bright white color that stands in stark contrast to the black dashboard, steering wheel and carpet.
Standard Kiriko glass trim has also been applied to the door panels. Previously only available with the Executive Package, each Kiriko panel reflects both the smooth white door trim and the dark Mark Levinson speaker grills. Blue LED dash lighting and “Lexus” puddle lamps that welcome you at each door round off the changes.
There are no mechanical upgrades, meaning the 2020 LS 500 Inspiration Series is still powered by a 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine that develops 416 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. With RWD, the LS 500 will do the 0-62 sprint in 4.6 seconds. The available AWD system also features a limited-slip center differential to further enhance grip, traction and cornering stability.
The 2020 LS 500 Inspiration Edition will go on sale this fall and will be limited to just 300 units in the US. Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date but expect to pay a premium over the standard LS 500, which starts at $92,300.
