2020 Lexus RX and RXL gain Android Auto and moreBlog Sep 5th, 2019
Lexus has announced the 2020 RX and RXL SUVs, and they bring with them some firsts for the Lexus brand. One first is the integration of Android Auto into both of the vehicles. Android Auto is a first for the entire Lexus brand and will go along with the Apple CarPlay that is already supported.
Amazon Alexa support is also integrated. All 2020 RX, RXh, RXL, and RXhL models get an optional 12.3-inch touchscreen or standard 8-inch touchscreen. The SUVs also get changes across the line, including hollow front and rear stabilizer bars to reduce weight.
While they are lighter and hollow for 2020, the stabilizer bars are also thicker in diameter and have reinforced bushings to help reduce body roll and improve steering response. Lexus has also re-tuned the shock absorbers to work with the stiffer roll bars with a new friction control device to help control high-frequency vibrations.
The stiffer suspension also reduces noise and vibration on the road. To help the car better handle turns, it also has active corner braking to prevent understeer by braking the inner wheel. Lexus RX and RXL buyers get two more USB ports for a total of six inside the vehicle.
The vehicle also supports the Lexus App that allows guests to start the vehicle remotely with a smartphone and contact a dealer to set up service. The vehicles include a 3-year subscription to Lexus Enform Remote service, and 10-years of Enform Service connect. Buyers also get Lexus Safety System+ 2.0. That system includes daytime bicyclist detection and low-light pedestrian detection along with Road Sign Assist (RSA) and Lane Tracing Assist (LTA). Hybrid versions make 308 combined hp and get an estimated 30 combined MPG for the RXh.
