2020 Lexus RC F

Lexus Punches Up the Performance of Its Sport Coupe

The Lexus RC F is four-wheeled proof that this Japanese luxury brand offers much more than a reputation for reliability and long-term dependability. This is the wild side of Lexus, and the 2020 model year ushers in some major changes for this luxury coupe.

But we’re not talking about the base RC that comes with a perfectly fine turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 241 horsepower to the rear wheels. The RC F is a much faster two-door proposition, thanks to the snarling 5.0-liter V8 engine that’s under the hood of this luxury-themed sports machine.

Lexus reworked the RC F’s suspension and lightened the overall weight to give it sharper reflexes and a sportier feel. The Track Edition goes even further, trimming more weight by the extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the car. In total, the Track Edition comes in at 176 pounds less than the previous RC F. When using its new electronic launch control system, this limited-edition Lexus needs only 3.96 seconds to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour.
