Lexus has been spotted testing out the Lexus LC500 at the Nurburgring. The deliveries of the coupe will only be starting off early next year.
In spite of the fact the engineer doing the test run wasn’t really pushing it to its full capacity, Lexus said the LC500 is the most dynamic car it has created, right after the LFA supercar. With that, we can be sure the LC500 would be able to do some fairly great lap times and hit amazing performance numbers.
A 5.0-liter V8 engine releasing 467 hp and 389 lb-ft of torque is the core reason behind the car’s power. It may not be as impressive as the LFA’s V10 but this V8 remains a novel choice in the field of luxury sports auto segment as most different makers have changed to turbocharged or hybrid powertrains.
The 10-speed Aisin single-clutch automatic transmission, changing the gears as fast as a dual-clutch unit, is mated to the engine. The gearbox is, surprisingly, much smaller and lighter than various other existing eight-speed transmissions in the market.
Lexus also stated that the LC500 can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 4.5 seconds as power is being sent directly to the back wheels. Braking is given by the 6-piston calipers at the front and four-piston units at the back.
