The Shaw family's involvement in the automobile business dates back to 1940's when Ken Shaw Sr. opened a service repair shop in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland.
After successfully repairing motor vehicles and servicing his customers, Ken emigrated to Canada in 1954 and began his new life in Toronto. He started working as a mechanic at a gas station and pumping gas on Spadina Ave.

In 1958 he acquired his own Sunoco gas station called Ken Shaw Sunoco on Dundas Street West near Scarlett Road. Ken Shaw Motors Limited had begun.......

In the early 1960's he took on the Renault brand and started selling new vehicles to the public for the first time. This required him to move to a new location just down the road from his Sunoco station at 4005 Dundas Street West.

His successful ways and how he looked after customers caught the eye of a growing car company fairly new to Canada - Toyota. They soon approached him to take on the Toyota franchise which he agreed to do.

On December 3rd, 1968, Ken Shaw Toyota opened its doors to the public. It wasn't long before record sales were happening and Toyota began to quickly grow in Canada.

In 1971, Ken Sr. acquired Kingsway Collision, a body shop which was situated next door to the Toyota dealership. With this addition the dealership was able to be a full service operation, offering sales, service, parts and body repairs to its clients.

In July 1971 Ken Jr. joined his father in the growing business. A few more years went by and son Paul also joined in June 1977. The two sons quickly went to work in the service side of the business becoming Licensed Technicians before moving into other aspects of the business.

Since the mid 1980's Ken Shaw Jr.  has overseen the service operations side of the business while Paul Shaw oversees the sales side.

Fast forward to the late 1980's.......
In 1989 the Shaw's secured the Lexus franchise, being one of only 22 dealers across Canada to be awarded this prestigious franchise out of 240 Toyota dealerships. This addition to the business and the fact the Toyota business had grown so much necessitated a move to much larger facilities.

A 5 acre site at 2336 St. Clair was acquired and major renovations started taking place in 1989/1990.

The new 67,000 square feet location opened for Toyota business on March 23, 1990, followed a few months later by the grand opening of the Lexus franchise.

Growth continued and in the mid 1990's a separate property across the road on St Clair from the main dealership was purchased and the Toyota used car department was moved into it.

In the early 2000's Ken Jr's son Kenny joined the business and followed the same path as his father and grandfather by working first in the service area of the business and becoming a Licensed Technician. After working for a number of years in service and parts, Kenny moved into Toyota sales.

Sadly in October 2003 Ken Sr. passed away, leaving the dealership in the hands of his 2 sons, Ken and Paul.

The Toyota and Lexus business continued to grow and prosper and in April 2006, a 3 acre adjacent property to the north of the dealership was acquired allowing for dealership growth and more new vehicle inventory display.

The exciting and youthful Scion franchise was then added in the summer of 2010. Kenny Shaw heads up the Scion franchise as the Brand Manager.

On March 04, my wife and I purchased our first Lexus from your dealership. We have always heard great stuff on Lexus products, but we always went German. Not anymore, the GX 460 has to be right up there with any ML or X5, if not better. We love it. What made the experience in purchasing a Lexus was the service. We have never been treated with such professionalism and honesty. First of all, I want to thank you for giving me a very fair price on the GX. I didn't have to counter offer or any of that stuff since I knew it was a great price. I also have to thank your staff especially Raphael for explaining every little detail of how the SUV works and having every single question and concern taken care of. He definitely went out of his way, and it was natural and genuine. I guess he loves doing what he does. Daniel Fung from financial services was a gentleman as well. My sales consultant Mark Aquilla was outstanding. He was extremely helpful. He answered all of my questions promptly either by email or phone. He made every effort to make the transaction as smooth as possible. He had a legitimate interest in my purchase and I believe he was as excited about my vehicle choice as I was. At delivery, we both had grins that went from ear to ear when I first saw my 2012 IS F. We have plans of replacing my wife's '05 RAV4 next fall and we will be back to deal with Mark. I feel he goes above and beyond in helping his customer.
I should also note the outstanding help of the pre-owned manager Donald Chau. He also went above and beyond in dealing with a last minute change in my trade-in plans when another dealership wanted my '07 Subaru STI. Overall, Ken Shaw Lexus is outstanding!!!

I had called Tuesday morning and spoke to Wiesia, to make an appointment for my 16,000 service to be done on my RX350 and to purchase/ install winter tires. I had arranged to pick up a rental on Wednesday night which I would return on Thursday when my vehicle was ready. However, when I started my car I noticed a red engine oil symbol on my navigation screen and I was concerned that I might need oil before my scheduled service. I happened to be in the neighbourhood of Ken Shaw Lexus so I stopped in to ask if I did indeed need some oil. To my surprise Yolano said to just leave my vehicle and take the rental since I was already there and he would take care of the service and the tires right away!!! Wiesia was there and wished me a Happy New Year and didn't seem annoyed that I just spoke to her 15 minutes earlier and had her set up the service and rental that would now have to be undone.

While I was waiting for the rental the service technician came looking for me. It seems I mentioned to Yolano that the engine light came on instead of explaining that it was the engine oil icon on the navigation screen that came on and he wanted to clarify it with me. He didn't see the engine light when he started the vehicle so instead of just ignoring it he came to see just what exactly was the problem. Now that was impressive!
What a team!!

My friend drives a Mercedes and his car was in the shop for 3 days to replace a belt - no complimentary vehicle and 3 DAYS TO FIX IT!!! I told him where he should be buying his next car and who should be servicing it.

Thanks as always for the BEST SERVICE IN TOWN!!!!
