Your rights as a Lexus Owner
YOUR RIGHTS AS A LEXUS OWNER
Unfortunately, accidents can happen. But when they do, it is important to restore your vehicle to its pre-accident condition. If your vehicle cannot be driven, your first challenge is what to do with your vehicle. All Lexus owners are invited to call Lexus Roadside Assistance at 1-800-26LEXUS (1-800-265-3987). An approved roadside assistance provider will be arranged to tow your vehicle to a Lexus Dealer. Please note that some charges may apply in these cases.
It is also important to contact your insurance provider as soon as possible after an accident occurs. Your insurance provider may direct your vehicle to a pre-determined body shop to obtain an estimate and / or to complete the necessary repairs. Under no circumstances are you legally-obligated to take your vehicle to this body shop. As the vehicle owner and holder of the insurance policy, it is your right to choose the collision repair facility to complete the repair of your Lexus.
Please ensure your insurance provider has a clear understanding of your expectations as a Lexus owner:
- Your Lexus must be restored to its pre-accident condition using only Lexus Genuine Collision Parts; and
- All repairs must be performed by a Lexus Certified Collision Centre.

WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT
KNOWLEDGE IS YOUR BEST INSURANCE
Should an accident occur, the following information will assist you when reporting the details to the appropriate authorities, as well as when in communication with your insurance provider.
STAY CALM
Confirm whether anyone has been injured. If there are injuries, call for emergency assistance immediately.
REPORT THE ACCIDENT IMMEDIATELY
A police report will assist in filing an accident claim with your insurance provider.
MAKE A SKETCH OF THE ACCIDENT SITE
A sketch of the site, illustrating the position of all vehicles and persons involved, will help when reporting details of the accident.
EXCHANGE INFORMATION
Exchange appropriate information (e.g. name, address, phone, insurance) from all parties involved, including any witnesses.
DO NOT SIGN AN AUTHORIZATION TO TOW
An authorized roadside assistance provider can be arranged by simply calling 1-800-26LEXUS (1-800-265-3987).
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
- Contact your insurance provider as soon as possible after the accident. Your insurance provider may wish to direct you to a body shop to obtain a repair estimate. Remember that you do not have to accept this facility to repair your vehicle.
- Ensure that your insurance provider knows that you expect the repair to be carried out using Lexus Genuine Collision Parts.
- Advise your insurance provider that you expect your Lexus to be restored to its pre-accident condition at a Lexus Certified Collision Centre.
Your Lexus has been manufactured to some of the most stringent quality standards in the automotive industry. All of the materials were specifically selected due to their superior composition and performance. Each part has been manufactured to exacting specifications for a precision fit. All have been thoroughly engineered and tested to ensure their durability, reliability and appearance meet Lexus quality standards.
Lexus Genuine Collision Parts are inventoried, supplied and warranted by Lexus Canada and a network of highly-trained professionals: your Lexus Dealer personnel. Lexus Canada's parts distribution centres generally resupply a network of more than 30 Lexus Dealers across Canada overnight. They are further supported by Toyota Motor Corporation's global parts distribution facilities, engineers, and supply partners.
There are alternative parts available for collision and other repairs. Generally, these parts have not been designed or produced by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (or OEM), nor are they of the same design or performance specifications. Commonly referred to as "aftermarket replacement parts," they may be of like kind and quality, and include salvaged, rebuilt or perhaps recycled parts. The use of aftermarket replacement parts is not guaranteed to restore your Lexus to its pre-accident condition. Moreover, such parts can negatively affect your vehicle's value as they generally do not meet Lexus design standards for safety and quality.
The more you know about the quality standards upon which your Lexus was designed and produced, the greater emphasis you will wish to place on exclusive use of Lexus Genuine Collision Parts at an authorized Lexus Certified Collision Centre.
WHY YOU SHOULD INSIST ON A LEXUS CERTIFIED COLLISION CENTRE
In the event your vehicle is involved in an accident, repairing your vehicle to Lexus standards becomes your responsibility. If you have the vehicle repaired at a non Certified Lexus Collision Centre and repairs are not adequate or up to factory standards at time of lease return, you will be charged for any additional repairs.
Having your Lexus repaired to factory standards will give you peace of mind motoring and ensure the warranty is not affected.
